I have a project in my head and I'm thinking about posting it here. I have my original savage 25 that I bought when the truck first came out. It has see many many jumps and monster jams. It's done donuts with real monster trucks and been feature in rc driver magazine well over a decade ago. Time has been tough and bashing gave way to racing and the eventually I moved away from the hobby.

Well I just got back in the hobby and decided to resurrect my savage. The question I have is would anyone like to see someone rebuild a truck with a combo of new and old but using all off the shelf parts. No custom brackets or crazy things just an old school highly modified savage.

Folks around here are always interested in others builds and projects.... I say make yourself a thread in the appropriate section and go to it. clear concise pics are best hosted at photo bucket and use IMG copy to paste your pics in your thread, this way everyone can see what you are building...

Wow can i make a suggestion use savage x diffs and bulk heads diff gears are tuffer and with savage x bulk heads the diffs are easier to remove if one blows.

Good i wish i had waiting on spider gears to arrive for mine. When i took it apart i regretted not changing mine.lol

Oooooo......basket of parts build. Those are always good! We have several guys around here who have done them. Looking forward to seeing it unfold!

At least I found some savage x diff cases but it looks like I need some other parts to make them work with what I have let the adventures begin

As I'm starting to mock up my mix of old and new I'm finding I'm missing a few things and a few things I didn't think of I had possibly overlooked. Like will x diffs fit original skids etc.

Also look carefully at that purple plate you have, it sure looks bent and twisted to my old :eyes:

Everything I have is bent. It works better that way. Lol. Though I fear I need to learn more about the savage x setup to understand what I'm looking at. So maybe my second project will become my first. Or I'll mix the two. Not sure yet.

bent parts becomes an ill handling rig. been there done that schtic... easy enuff to flatten out and have the correct alignment of parts....
