HPI savage Shock Shafts replacement

i have snapped 2 of my Shock Shafts but i cant find the replacement part all of the shock shafts i ve see have threaded ends and on E clips. size 3x80mm.IMG_20160317_135201.webp could any one help ?

I got my hpi savage X 4.6 second hand so not sure what shocks they are but they look like the ones on hpi #A712. Just maybe different shock shafts.
 
just cheap knock off's then. do you think i ll be able to put 3x86mm shafts in the shocks?


Assuming you got the correct type of shock shaft, yes. Only issue I foresee is that if you bottom out you will likely throw the piston into the shock cap. Obviously the potential for damage is great if you do that. If you are a basher I wouldn't recommend it.
 
you could use the longer shafts if you put a limiter on the outside so they couldn't push the piston up far enough to hit the shock cap, you may lose a bit of suspension compression but it outta be very little in the loss and save you having to get new shocks....
 
Or... just pitch them and get a set of the plastic big bores from a flux or other savage on ebay. I really like those shocks on my X. Having 4 means half as much breakage!
 
That shock looks like it is for show. Its so clean and looks brand new-how much use on that thing before it broke?
