Anyone find a skid or wheelie bar that helps against tearing the rear of the body up every time you pull a wheelie?

I'm running an LRP28S3 with 17/47 gearing and still wheelie a lot very easily. I'm on my 3rd or 4th wheelie bar because they break. Just curious if there's a better thing to use than the HPI wheelie bar to help keep the body intact.

Well, mines a savage X and I run traxxas 3.8 wide rims with chevron tires. I don't like running big heavy tires as they tend to break more things and make it handle like a slug.

breaking the stock HPI wheelie bar ??? thats a new one, I beat the snot outta my savage x and have not had any trouble with breaking, maybe modify your driving style a bit and try not to crash and flip alot, also the surface can make a difference also, asphalt or concrete is alot more hard on stuff than dirt and grass is..... 😀

I'll echo what Jam has said. No issues what so ever with my HPI wheelie bar. But I bash mostly on dirt and grass.

Add shock dampers to an alloy bar or just stop running pickup lids that extend behind the rear wheels.

so does that shelfer ever see use and get dirty?? Looks really sweet but personally I would not even wanna get that one dirty.... 😉
Dirt? Did you say DIRT? The only dirt you'll see on most of my rigs has been painted on. 😀

one would think even with street use there would be some sign of dirt on there, prolly took the pics before it ever ran like I would do.... but I still like to see some dirt remain on my rigs after use, makes them look loved to me 😀

I admit it, I never ran it. I started it once with a few drops in the carb just to make sure it all worked.

Collectively, every RC on the planet weeps for your savage because of this statement.

Please, I implore you, send that truck to me so that it can have the life that it deserves!

I am with X on this one 100% and I am sure either one of us would love actually getting it dirty and letting it feel loved and cared for...... quite a boring existence for a truck that is made for BASHING and playin with. does it have a special case to keep dust off all that chiney alloy ?? :lmao: :lmao:

Hmmmm.. Most parts being Integy as it seems this wasn't made for driving.. 🙂 🙂 🙂
No, no, NO! NO INTEGY!. Most of the parts are from FLM, or Fast Lane Machine, and whatever they didn't make I got through RCMALL on eBay. NO INTEGY....NONE!!!!

The only thing i see that is FLM are the TVP's.

Bumpers,Wheeliebar, shocktowers and arms are not FLM.. Maybe GPM but definately NO FLM...

FLM TVP (and an Integy tank"guard")

Definitely FLM on the extended TVPs and the bottom plates. I forgot that the tank guards were Integy. One on each side. The nerf bars on the bottom center of the TVPs are also integy but the name has since been buffed off. I don't remember who made these hybrid diffs or the alloy trans case. I think the diffs might be FLM.

If you look real close you can still see the name Integy on the nerf bar but it has since been buffed off. 😀 018.webp

There's a tank plate on both sides, but the Integy engraving is gone. The orange fuel coolers are also Integy. I would never use their alloy parts on anything that needs strength, only for the pretty factor.
The head is a Nova, the fuel lines were custom made, that's a Killer RC shutoff attached to the tank plate on this side.
I don't remember who made the shocks but they are absolutely NOT Integy.
I'm only considering ONE more part and that's the servo box cover. That's also only available from Integy. I'm undecided if I want the silver or the orange. It's $95, but it would be the final thing for the Bling.CompBld 015.webp

Seems an awful waste of money to have that just sit there and be pretty.... but is your money to waste away as you wish.... 😉

In the 1:1 scale of custom cars, most of them are for show, not for go.
I also have 2 other Savages, one is an extended FLM brushless conversion and the other is the twin motor E-Savage.
Here's the start of the Brushless conversion, all FLM parts.
