Good fun for in the house messing around or for the little ones. I don't think you're going to see many, if any, hop-ups in my opinion.

Definately fun for the home or even when it rains and you can use a sheltered place with those DIY ramps! Would love one tho...lol! Wonder if it'll survive a hit to the wall or table leg...hehe!

it looks to me like hpi's version of the ecx kickflip. I just wish they could make something as good as the micro losi's

ive got the losi micro t, tricked up to the max, carbon fiber chassis, brushless, lipos, you name its got it, that hpi micro just don't have that edge that losi micros have, if someone wanted a micro then id say get a losi, even the basic losi micro is better

sorry hpi but your micro just aint got it

I have to agree with u there, I wonder why nobody except losi and redcat can make proper micros. ecx tried, but failed with the kickflip. the hpi looks good, but only because it's and hpi Baja. ive thought many times about getting a micro losi, and probably will someday.

They have a couple at a LHS around here, he didn't let me drive it but hot damn they are quick, almost too fast for inside. For $60 bucks I may go pick one up, but thats a set of FLM TVP's :(. Much cooler IMO than a first-gen Xmod, but theres a lot more hop-ups for those.

The only model specific hop-up available right now from HPI is slightly taller gearing to make it even faster haha. Who knows what the aftermarket will bring, that will depend on market interest.

They charge from the transmitter too, I thought that was neat, just need 4 AA's to run it!

Edit: And I have to say the cardboard ramp instructions make me want one even more; Step-up's onto kitchen counters and what not! Air-time rain or shine haha.

The problem with that, atleast in my experience, is that they always run through the charge very quickly. You never get long run times with a set up like that.

For sure, but I don't think these had the intention to need much run-time from the get-go, more for around the home/office. The Losi is going to be the better outdoor racer, I mean com'on, the HPI comes with foams haha.

And even though HPI says its a 1:32 scale, I think its the same size or smaller than the claimed 1:36 scale Losi.

I guess what my opinion on them is,
HPI Q32: Fun novelty that one can sky the airs of their own home/office.
Losi: For racing. I mean, look @GIRLYPANTS Micro T, that thing is wicked, doubtful a Q32 will ever have that kind of aftermarket support, The Q32 only has but one spring in the entire suspension, its in the rear and it has zero dampening. Shoot my 1st gen XMOD is far more complex haha.

Edit: And TBH, I thought the Micro T went for more than it does, I'm finding ones for as low as $70, pretty sure with either intentions I would spend the little more for the Losi.

go on surlyman get a losi micro t, you don't need to bling it up, tho the charger is a bit naff, it does the job, i use my multi charger for lipos to charge the micro up

trouble is tho, soon as you see all the bling for it, youll catch the micro t bug :)

i think I would take the micro t over that q32 vehicle anyday......lots of fun inside and can even run on dirt outside if it is smooth enough.....

Ya i saw all the bling at RC Mart and just had to trick it all out..... :D it really is a fast fun lil truck to play with inside when weather is bad......

Ive just ordered the bits needed to finish my micro t off, (i broke the electrics) cant wait to get whizzing about again, like a rat on a hotplate, ive seen some on youtube doing 50mph, thats just ridiculous speed for such a little truck

anyone else got a micro

I had a few micro's and.... EH... Stock they were boring, when I fixed em up they were too fast for inside, and completely worthless outside. I had a Micro T and DT.

Maybe a mini, but I'm on the fence with that too. I just can't leave stuff inside, or stock

the problem i had was the losi radio gear, soon as i customised a spektrum sr201 receiver to fit all my troubles were over, no more glitching and i can now control the speed much better, i have a castle micro speed controller which is so smooth, has all the adjustments needed to get the micro t performing for where ever i choose to play, i use the dynamite lipos as i just can get hold of the losi lipos anymore, the dynamite is good enough tho

Hey Jam, long time no talk ?

I've been gone for a couple years and in the mean time I've become a losi micro collector. Would you believe that I was searching for parts, came across the hpi savage forum and you were the one that has a micro.

Do you still have it? I'd love to see more pictures of it.

Really old thread... oddly, I had to search for parts for my micro-t lately. Fried the 2.4ghz brushed/brushless board. Shoehorned a 20A esc and DSM2 spektrum receiver in it on a now DT chassis.

Can see it's progression over at RCTalk.com. I made a thread there recently as the microt forum is gone now.
