ok today i was driving my savage up a hill and it stopped and started sparking(near then spur gear and clutch bell) and i hurryed up and turned it off why did it spark like dat?

oh ok how do i fix that problem

make sure your teeth on the spur and clutch bell are still in tact, if so mount the engine back on the savage and when adjusting your mesh, what i do is when the spur and clutch bell are touching hold the clutch bell with your finger and move the spur back and forth you want a little bit of play not to much and not to little you need the sweet spot. With that trick i had a plastic spur last 2 years, when i hit a surveying post and the spur stripped >=(

A good mesh is important. I've beat on mine with a picco and the plastic spur still looks new after a gallon or so. I saw my bro-in-law strip out like 4 clutch bells with his metal spur so I'm going to stick with plastic.

tre make sure you have the hpi vented clutch bell with that steel spur gear or your clutch bell wont last long( like smileymans bro in law ) the non vented bells are designed to run with the plastic and the vented bells are much harder to last with the steel on steel contact

Also get some blue loctite put on bolts for motor mount keep them from coming loose . and i always check mine after every run make sure all bolts are tight .

but now when i drive it it make a slipping noise like the gears broke or something

thanks for the advice but still not working cause I'm rollling it and the spur gear not moving

check the spur gear nut first. then we will go from there. chances are its loose and the slipper is free spooling
