is all the tunning guides they say not to start tunning till your engine has warmed up to operating temps, but i doesn't say what that temp is, what is the temp? thanks

I use a drill bit and put it in perpendicular (standing up along the carb wall) to the card slide. Remember to remove the venturii.

Honestly I forget about temps with the envoriment being cold. I just cover the head with a sock or aluminum foil. The only time my temp reached 200F is my first 220 cc tank, after that my temps temps never got past the 170 F range. I just put a tune that still puts out a good smoke trail throughout the RPM widthband. Explanation of how I do it is, if the motor was at performance tuned, back out the HSN 3/4 - 1/2 counterclock wise. I would set the idle gap just enough to keep your motor running. If we are talking about the Picco, after my performance tune was complete, my idle gap was 7mm at the end.

I for got to add that I left my LSN at factory until i got about the 3/4 gallon. After my 1/2 of a gallon, I turned the HSN 1/12 every tank there after

forgot to ask is there away to know for sure your idle gap is .5mm to 1mm?

Center drill bit to middle of the slide and have the drill bit perpendicular to the carb wall. Adjust as neccessary.

Ok experts charm in if there is something wrong.

IMO i would run it around 230F . In the manual it says to keep it under 250 for me, but since you got a different motor, I'm not too sure if it could handle running at bigger temps

also when i have noticed that when my engine is at 250f-260f i notice what appears to be smoke or steam (i can't tell but thats what it looks like) coming from the glow plug area my glow plug is nice and snug so its not leaking or anything is that normal?
