i don't use the S25 bulks so I can't say for sure ,
I know others have done it , in different version , for the ofna 250.
you shouldn't have any problems with your servo , a longer servo arm I think to keep it squared up is all.
I thought about going with the same thing as you , the 3mm and cut it my self , but really the 6 bucks or so for the IRC plate I couldn't go wrong .
I would like to have everything here so I can finish this truck though 🙂 .

Check out a couple other builds here , and take a look at the plates and extensions they have mad for the ofna tank.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply . I though the IRC tank plate doesn't work with flm tvps? If it does all the more better 🙂
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for the reply . I though the IRC tank plate doesn't work with flm tvps? If it does all the more better 🙂
Thanks

I got my plate another tank and posts from robert last week ,I haven't had time yet to play with it anymore but I had test fitted the IRC plate to location it will be installed , everything lines up , with minor adjustments to the rear of the plate I can mount the rear lower brace , the front brace will need one hole tapped , as far as I can tell the front of the plate only has one mounting hole.
can anyone with the irc plate confirm this ?
I hope to have some time this week to install the plate , run the wires ect .

in the next month I'm going to have a whole house full of r/c cars/trucks(9 in total now) and need to clear of my bench and find room for them all.
I will post updates and pictures when I get closer to the end of this project.Jay and Bob

bit up an update , I had a chance to work on the truck tonight , so I'll do my update now , before I head to bed , sleep for 5 hours and go stain a deck .
I"ll start with the steering arm I fabed up tonight
I used two endlinks and a rustler tierod , that I had spare of .
I cut down the tierod and added the endlinks

next is the radio box , I fabed this up using a rush box , cut it to fit filled the holes and ran my wires in the box , mounted up the mount ,
I used the two posts that came with my IRC plate as they were the right height I needed , since these were extra I didn't need to order any others ,as I was just going to order some axial ones.
I have lots of clearance above the drive shaft wires all clear and such .

I ran my wires from the front servo to the radio box , I slide then inside braided loom left over from another project , I think it makes it very clean , and less likely of heat or other items coming in contact with the wires.

I didn't really want to mount the battery to the rear shock tower but I have to work with the funds I have , so for now it will have to do ,
I would like to put it rush box and have it mounted to the front , run the wires back with the servo wire.
I also would like to get a long horn for the steering.
but for now all I have left to do is linkage I think ......

quick update before bed here
I ran the linkage for the brake and throttle tonight. looks good seems very quick and smooth , more so now then before ,
no pictures tonight , I'll try and get some this week for you guys .
just minor things left to do now , I need to go back and double check all my screws and install my skid.
rather happy that I managed to get the IRC plate to work on this saved me some money , which needs to go in to the other truck now.
Now that I know what to except in the build I can start to plan my next one ,.
:canada:
now just need to do some paint , anyone know how to get my hands on some
:hpisf:decals ?
:bedtime

another quick update ,
since i's all finished now I broke in my os.30 ,
the truck just screams down the track , We have a BMX track right next to the R/C track , the guys repairing the track took the time too stand by and watch as it flew down the track .
not only does it look slick but and boogie too .
I have only had a few minor set backs .
the first was the blasted rear shocks , I managed to blow three off the rear 1 bent shaft , this was only on my first jump with it too boot 🙁 .
I packed up the truck that day got it fixed and went back out to the track this past week for the day.
so the other minor thing I have to tweak is the balance issue .
the truck now seems to be more front heavy compared to a stock X . when I take a jump the front end want to drop right away .
so I'm thinking of maybe tweaking the front springs ?
so I maybe have to practice more on the throttle more , then I did with a Stock, as a stock would have more rear weight anyways .
but so far , I'm loving the Mid tank , and I notice the lean problem more now in my other truck.

thanks guys for all the help so far .

from what I have read you can still do the 250 tank , since your making your own plate then you can fit it and move your mounts as needed.
use cardboard or paper or something to make your template ,
you won't be able to go in to the bulk head like the X can ,
I would have to check my s25 bulks to make sure , but I remember hearing something awhile back about this .
other then that you shouldn't have a problem , pick up some linkage rods , ends , the mounts . you should be good .
you can buy a longer steering link or make your own if you have alot of spares like I have .
I also added a longer servo horn on the steering .

once you start to mount it all up you can see where things should go and it come together nice.
if fuel size doesn't matter to you that much , then I would do a smaller tank and add the receiver box up front with the tank as well .
it saves you from getting a mount and battery box ,
Which I haven't done yet my self but need to as zip ties aren't working all that well.

been awhile since I posted , thought I would post up here .
the whole things works really really well , I wish I did a mid tank months ago now .
I will be doing a mid tank to my other now since mine runs like night and day.
I haven't broken down and bought a battery mount yet , I have just been running it zip-tied to the rear tower, was working really well till I busted the tie and didn't have a replacement today , I had to resort to a small bungee cord LOL it work really well.

So aside from the whole truck looking all slick smooth and wicked fast with the OS 30 I installed . I get loads of on lookers check it out , since they never seen a savage like this before.
it needs some tuning , it still running a bit rich and just skips 2nd and moves right to third .

Next on my shopping list for this truck will be IRC dog bones , battery box and mount.
some time this winter I plan on switching out these shocks for something different , a single setup maybe.
got the new tires from savscott , they worked really well hooks well on my track.

Also on a side note I wasn't able to keep up with those losi truggies at the truck last year with my old setup .but today I was keeping up to them , they handled better in the turns but I always caught back up in the straights .
so all in all was a good build.

Looks a really good build. I am just going to buy the innovative rc plate now because of the price of it and modify it. I am going to have to make my own servo mounts though as postage is 13$ just for the mount which I really cannot justify. Could I use some old motor mount braces to act as the tank braces if I modify them?

Really looks good mate

Thanks I'll try and answer your question ,
first not sure where you live but I never paid $13 shipping for the servo mounts. But I also ordered a few odds and ends at the same time .
but have a look at tower hobbies they have a lot of different mounts that are cheap that may work.

I almost went with another brand my self . but for the price of the FLM they are made to fit the tvps so mounting was very easy .
If I were to do it all again I may have just gone IRC kit , added the tank I wanted and battery box and the other small parts .
I don't know if they fit in to stock tvps with modding or not but I would be will to try to it saves alot of the guess work .

for the front IRC plate mount , I used an old TVP brace I had a motor plate from a S25 is the same but the X has the hump in it which won't be as strong.

FTW I bought my Servo mounts from RCbros they were fast emailed back quick and shipped to canada.

hi Thnaks for the reply. The shipping was to the uk. I got my bp diffs form the us and prostage was only 12$ on the packet and tht was the bp diffs in cases and 2 of em. so I refuse to pay it lol. I think I might just get the full inovative rc kit but don't get how the ssteering servo box fits at the front lol so will have to look into it.

koiboy has it easy i pay $24 for S&H from Tower Hobbies, $13 S&H from RC Bro's and any thing else is $20 S&H ..
Man i gotta move to the US LOL

I hear you , I also try to bundle and buy more then one thing , makes me feel about the extra shipping up here.
Update here ,
I made my battery mount and Wing mount today .
Had old parts left over from an LSt2 that someone gave me .
I managed to use the front tower with very minor trimming or adjustments for the battery mount .
I then used the rear mount again with very little adjustments for the wing mount .

I'll grab some pictures in a few

heres the pictures of the battery mount I made up ,
using old left over parts cost me nothing.
I forgot to take pictures of the wing I'll grab those later.

pictures are big , photobucket never likes to resize for me .

But as you can see very little mods done to the front tower to fit .
I trimming and drilled the three holes for mounting it to the tower and the shocks.
battery mounts to the lower part , i am still able to open the box and change out battery if needed with out taking it all down.

later I'll post the pictures of the wing mount .

Looking good chimera. I am having to go the same direction you habve gone as the irc servo would fit (made the sevo sit to high so then the arm hit the plate. I have go a couple of questions for you.

1. Did you use the innovative rc rear brace (one with the arc in the bottom of it) if so did you have to drill and tapp any holes into the side of it?

2. I see you have drilled and tapped a hole in the cntre of the front brace? Is it purpose to hole the plate down?

3. does your plate sit flat?

Sorry for all these questions littering your thread lol. Your build thread is reallly good and has lots of advice.

I am ordering the flm servo mounts form jamie hopefully to day

Regards
Elliot

No worries , here to help .
1 .No I did not , I used a standard alloy tvp brace , hmm might be FLM .
didn't have to drill any sides holes , they were already there.

2.while I am not using the IRC TVP'S and I improvised .
when I mounted the tank plate , it rested over the steering links with two larger holes for the two bolts to go in too.
which still allowed the tank plate to move up and down .
I added the extra screw just for my peace of mine.
buying the midtank kit might have resulted in different results .

3 my tank plate sit flat yes , and I'm never worried it will bust off or move in a crash or flip over.

any more questions just ask away .
I completed this a few months ago , this past week I tore it down for a cleaning and a few other things , and just in the process of putting it all back together , so if you need any other shots of measurements let me know and I'll what I can do.

Thanks for that chim. I have both types of braces so will just use the motor plate one. I will use the innovative rc one at the front. Is there much clearence between the servo and the plate useing the flm servo mounts?

Thanks
Elliot
