I have hpi big bores and have already installed the extra black stops inside the shocks which helped lower the truck but i lost travel and the truck would bounce real hard on landing. Is there any other way that the truck can be lowered without having to fabricate to much stuff?

many of us use hellfire shafts inside the big bore shocks. lowers the truck 3/4".

think i got 30# oil & 1.4t's in mine, lands sweet.

That sounds good, were do you get your hellfire shafts from?

I'm actually using the shafts from CEN GST shocks but they're dimensions identical to the Hellfire shafts.

the Hellfire are part # HPI 86541 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...ff4437f&itemid=390047815512&ff4=263602_263622

is it good for bashing?

This is mostly a matter of personal preference but i love how they bash. I/We only go after huge air when we bash, no high speed runs or hill climbing really & ive not bent one yet.

Do they fit just like the original? I'm gona get this next i think, i just don't want to buy the wrong ones.

In terms of the plungers and shock eyes fitting yes they fit exactly alike, theyre just shorter by 3/4"

Frddyj, one more thing, do you use the stock big bore springs with your setup?

I do, yes and maybe one preload spacer. Again, I love the way my truck lands, easy to control.

Winn here's some pics of my nitro sav & big bores with hellfire shafts (actually cen gst, but same dia & length).

I'm also using cen gst shock eyes which are a bit longer, but not much
