Man this is great... you guys see the videos from the airplanes yet, pretty sweet for that application as well. I think if I had that I could actually fly, right now I eventually run them all into the ground, haha.

I think they should do a FPV race. It would be sweet for an actual track, trying to navigate a double triple rythm section from the first person view 🙂

Gotta build a little cage over the camera so it doesn't get damaged. You could almost get it to look out the windshield of most bodies and the cage and everything would be completly hidden 🙂

$499.99 ($99 extra for vga display in the goggles) for the rtr car doesn't sound bad. I still haven't found a price for the complete FPV setup without their crappy rc with it though, haha.

OK Pope.. here is my dads'sideas... I really like the idea of it on the ground in an offroad race, that would be freaking awsome, but!!!....

Once he saw the inflight videos the ideas started flowing. Ok here it is. In the air dog fights! You could rig up the same equipment used for laser tag games on the planes to record "hits" "misses" and shots fired. Here is a funny video he found, he has awsome range of motion on his FPV setup from the same company we are talking about:

Second idea. The RC guys need to volunteer their services for search and rescue. It would be fairly easy to have a 2 mile range on the rx/tx. Imagine freakin 10 of these airplanes in the air at one time. They could cover so much ground. Up here in the mountains this could be VERY useful. The range is usually limited to keeping the plane in sight, but that wouldn't be an issue anymore. You could fly one from the back seat of a car that was driving down the road. Or you could take a glider or whatever way out into the wilderness on an ATV and launch it where ever! With the awesome range of motion you could constantly be scanning the ground while flying a straight grid.

This very well may be my next purchase. My dad has been talking about using a fixed camera to navigate an rc with for a while, I thought it was cool, but not cool enough. This pan tilt setup.. now that is cool enough for me 🙂 !!
