Hpi big bore or Hpi big bore sport shocks for savage xl ?

I'm just a basher . Gonna put some "more" $$$ in my savage xl.
Which shocks are more durable for jumps and what wt. Oil should I get ?

thx mod, i was thinkin the plastic-body flux shock but wanted to be sure.

i went for the aluminum big bores (A720) caz the flux wasnt released when i got em.

idk though, guys been getting the sport/flux pretty cheap on the bay.

I never had any luck on e-bay finding better shocks for my xl .

i run the flux/sport shocks on my xl and they have been taking a beating . they have survived 25+ ft jumps of cliff walls. the only prob i have incountered is the top bolts have bent on me

I have heard the shafts on the aluminum body BBs are more prone to bending than the shafts on the plastic BBs. OTOH, the aluminum bodies are supposed to be smoother. I'm thinking of buying the alum set and getting the uncoated shafts from the plastics.

The Aluminum bodied ones are Superior. I have a set of both just got the Plastics which are on my E-Savage, I picked them up NIB for $35.00 on Ebay.

As far as the Shafts, the Aluminum bodied ones are TiNi Coated which will be much better for seals along with a little harder coating. They should just as good as the Plastic bodied ones if installed correctly (Straight up and down). I have bent one of the TiNi coated shafts thought, so who knows.
