Before go into details, sorry for my poor english.

Maybe i should start by showing some picture....

Hong Nor 17mm Hex with 10mm extension

to test the whole system, i'll use this...hopefully it wont burnt during testing stage. once the drive-train tested and running well....i'll changed the ESC to MGM16025 with KB45 8XL or NEU.

will fabricate the center diff bracket tomorrow....DIY....stay tuned....will update soon.....

thankx for viewing...... 🙂

Very nice build going on here. I love the idea of the center diff.

Do you have a link to the 17mm Hong Nor extensions and are they a direct fit?

what are you doing with the unknown rims they look good to me. are they 17mm in good condition i may be interested for the right price.

BTY very nice project you have going on

Hi, actually Hong Nor 17mm hex can't directly be installed, i'm using most of the X1CRT parts for the conversion. i believe Hong Nor parts beefy enough to take the stress...hehe
so this will be my 17mm conversion....

I've changed my F & R diff cup joint to Hong Nor, stock cup joint too long for X1CRT universal.
IMG_2546.jpg

X1CRT Universal with 0.8mm (depends on the clearance) shims. This shims will be use before the inner bearing. after fixing all the parts...you're ready to go....

To all the savage owner, please do not copy my idea first, still under R&D. will write a full review once the quality and reliability proven.

:lmao4:

Thanks bro.....i'm from Malaysia, maybe the freight charges will cost you a bomb and let me try to run with brushless set up first before i sell the wheel. thank you for your interest.

My center diff bracket is ready to install...please don't laugh at my lousy DIY.
If my truck run smoothly, i'll send to CNC shop for fabrication.

enging plate need to be cut, to give way to my center diff bracket. The center drive shaft will be using SAVAGE XL Extended rear shaft & X1CRT universal for front.
IMG_2565.jpg

The reason i'm keeping the L shape is because i'm going to mount a alum plate on top of it, gonna use it to place my receiver and BEC.
IMG_2554.jpg

Try not to drill too many hole on my TVP, Using the existing Gear Box screw mounting Hole. Just got one hole drilled, another hole will be drill when motor mount is ready. this is to make sure i'm getting the perfect macthing between pinion and spur.
IMG_2558.jpg

Will fabricate my motor mount tomorrow if my schedule allowed.

first off welcome to the forum, secondly thats a awsome build you have going on there cant wait to see it when shes done, thanks for sharing!!!!

Thanks for the answer. I was just hoping for an easy way to convert my last truck to actual Truggy style 17mm hex's with out purchasing the HPI Conversion for $45 or whatever bucks.

Some updates.....

at last, my motor mount is ready and this is how it looks like...

Due to the motor diameter (45mm), i need to use pinion higher than 12T. Need to get some 13T pinion and rebore to 6mm, the motor shaft is 6mm..@#*&^%$#
Currently i'll test with 12T, it can be use but the best match still 13T. based on the RC speed calculator, Estimated speed will be around 40++mph.

Battery tray from LHS, just bought the tray and not the set complete with mounting bracket. because i still need to custom made the bracket for my XL TVP anyway. i'll use aluminum angle bar for the bracket.

Hop up the electronics and try to test the drivetrain, BAD NEWS....of of my Turnigy 3S1P LiPo is death... 🙁 hopefully it can be claim from Hobbyking.

Tested with my 4S1P 5000mah 30c, the drive train is ok, power on 4S is quite awesome, will share some video tonite... 🙂

Question....

I think it gonna be very heavy with LiPo on both side...any suggestion for the shocks? currently i'm using HPI big Bore, can i maintain the current shock?? what shock oil i should use?

anyone run 8pcs of HPI big bore before? I've ordered the FLM shock tower, i believe i got more choices for shocks, any recommendation?

How about body shell? If possible i would like to choose something others than Xl's. currently i'm using the Savage X, just ream a new hole...and it lookis very strange....just like an adult with kid's wear....LOL

V3, i think juz 4pcs big bore will be enough.. the stock nylon big bore on my flux took a lot of torchure and still in its best condition.. not to say the alum one.. btw, how much does it weight now?

regarding shell, myb you can try check for proline crowd pleaser.. i found it nice on my flux (though i paint it badly, lol)..

anyway, nice build buddy.. cant wait to see it run!

Video...at last...

While waiting for my 3S1P from hobbycities and KB45 motor shaft to be machined to 5mm, i'm running on 2S1p in series with Tekno Neu 1515/2.5D/F motor.

Some info after the testing...
- motor temp around 60++ then i stop, would it be too hot? or normal?
- MMM max temp around 40 - 43'C, info from DX3S telemetry system. manage to get this temp maybe because of the fan modification. i've replaced the fan with higher spec but same size and its operate directly from BEC. Not comfortable with the factory fan which is running when reach certain temp.
Open up the MMM casing and you'll know the factory fan's spec. 🙂

so far so good, nothing burnt..only manage to try around 20mins. LiPo average voltage around 3.75V. I've set the cut off voltage at 3.3V/cell, i believe can get 25mins of run time.

Video as follow. only a short video because i'm the driver and videographer...LOL
