so i am in the process of building my brushless conversion, and was wondering what everyone used for lipos?
i take it the 3s, and 6s etc, mean the number of "cells"?
I'm leaning towards SMC... toughts?
my question is, what do people mean when they say they charge at "1C" or "2C"? what exactly is "C" (current?) and also, how many amps does "1C" equate to? i've read 5.5 amps, but can't grasp how "C's" relate to amps. thanks in advance.
how do you know how many "C's" you should charge a given pack at?
Your rigs ESC's should all have an auto-cutoff.
20C battery should be able to supply 20 amps continuously without damage.
30C battery should be able to supply 30 amps continuously without damage.
my question is, what do people mean when they say they charge at "1C" or "2C"?
in its simplest terms, 1C = 1/1000 of the packs total Mah (capacity)how many amps does "1C" equate to? i've read 5.5 amps, but can't grasp how "C's" relate to amps. thanks in advance.
thanks for all the info guys. its been a great help. still lots to process, but it gives me some great ideas.
Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I wanted to make sure that the fact that discharging a LiPo too far is as dangerous as charging it too much.
BY discharging too much (leaving them plugged into the esc for example) will cause to the batteries to puff up and possibly explode.
So maybe no fire, but still a dangerous situation.

so here is a question for everyone. if you have an old LiPo, what should you do with it? take it to a special battery recycle place? how do you "old timers" do it?
This is what I've heard of to dispose of LiPo Packs...
