Race track had a few puddles on it yesterday and me being me ran anyway. Well now it is cleaning time and wouldn't you know it out of nitro cleaner. Using simple green on the rest of the truck can I use it to clean the motor as well? Don't see anyreason why not just figured I would put it to you guys first.

While it is apart I guess I should shim that front diff. Just picked up more shims last week guess now is as good a time as any.

Great link. I've been using that system for quite a few yrs now. Cheap and effective. The more you use it like during a race ( especially ) helps keep the grime off.

Alex, I know what you mean because I went to the track to race one day and they said "Rain or shine" so I went with a set of my normal tires and then the stock savage tires incase it got muddy. Well they called the race off and I decided I went out to the track to run so I did about 20laps....needless to say I never got all the GA red clay coloring off.

Anyways for cleaning after something like that I remove ALL electronics and the engine. I then hit it with the water hose...then grab some simple green or purple power and spray it down GOOD. Then I let it soak for about 3minutes and hit it with the water hose again. After that I fine "clean" everything else. I also use carb cleaner and engine degreaser

Question guys. Does the diluted simple green turn the plastic white? I know i used it full strength and it ate into my plastics. So does cutting it help this?

Wow that's weird Bank, I have never seen that and you know I'm a clean freak so I've used gallons on the Savage alone. I normally used the mix, but I have used Simple Green at full strength before.

It didn't hurt it just made the a-arms a grey /white color like it sucked the life out of them. Made me wonder if it would make them brittle like the nitro cleaners do. So I didn't use it again on the plastic. I do use it to clean my mill every time I pull it out. I just don't use it on the chassis anymore. Ill dilute it and try again the stuff does work too good to not give another chance.

Yep that's the same mix I use! Not sure if anyone recalls the muddy pic from meeting up with the boys in Houston

I've never had any issues with turning anything white (I always dilute), but I do liberally spray it down with wd-40 after I use compressed air to dry

Thanks man! It required more work that time than usual.
If you wouldn't have helped me with my lost rear diff (grub screw) it would have never been possible 🙂 :highfive:
