Hey, I have ordered a metal 49T spur gear and I was wondering if the stock slipper clutch would work with it or would I have to order a different one

Here it is I ordered it on Ebay part #76939 49TAnd also post a pic of the spur gear already on the truck
It’s pretty strippedAnd also post a pic of the spur gear already on the truck
Yeah it runs great! It revs and all that but it won’t go forward because of the spur gear strippedHave you tested this truck to see if it runs?
I will lol going to order it sometime this week. I have a problem now was trying to take the engine out so that I can clean some stuff and I’ve got the dang stinger stuck it won’t come outIt sounds good man. Make sure you put an air filter on that thing before you take it outside lol

Thanks that worked. Man I tell you what this engine is really dirty! Glad I went ahead and pulled it outLoosen up that small black set screw and it should wiggle out. Make sure you use the right size wrench, those little guys like to strip out very easily
Find out this is strippedThey get VERY crusty from sitting a lot. Spiolling fuel on it when filling it up doesnt help either lol

Thanks for the recommendationhttp://www.motorsaverfilters.com/savage.htm
Lots of people swear by that brand.... I find most any 1/8 scale big block type will work well if you keep it clean....

if you have the stock HPI housing assembly you can just buy replacement foams and oil them up with K&N airfilter oil

I hate to break it to you but that is a stock 49 tooth plastic spur gear.
your best bet would be to purchase a Robinson Racing Products steel spur gear & clutch bell set....

I fixed it now but thanks don’t know how I did it just had to mess around with the linkagedoes the throttle slide open? Linkage attached?
It should work just fine as long as you ordered the one for your model of savage. Theres two different styles as far as I know. The older one that has the gear and then just the spring and nut, and then the newer one which has the slipper plates on both sides of the gear. Post the link to what you bought
