That's not a savage, it's a Timberwolf that thinks it's a savage, LOL. It don't look to bad if I do say so but was a bit tight on length., over hangs the rear bumper about 20mm but the wheelie bar will stop it ripping it up. Got to find the smaller wheel that come with the wheelie bar as the big one on it is abit close to the shell. Should have 3 of them but as usual can't find them LOL.
The good thing is that the steering doesn't foul the body at all as didn't want to start cutting the arches. Not bad for a £10 shell mate.👌😉

I've plonked a 4.6 truggy shell on the savage, granted it certainly changes the appearance! Apologies for jumping on to your post Gazzman!
Ideally the shell taken from truggy flux would suit it better (does away with the exhaust bulge on the side)

No apologies needed bud, it's what we do.
I used to have an HPI Jumpshot SC awhile back, hated the truck but loved the look of it with the short course shell and was trying to achieve a similar look. But due to the width of the savages lower arms knew was wheels would be better off outside of the body. The Timberwolf shell is 280mm wide across the arches were as a normal savage shell is around 180-200mm at its widest point. As I said in my post above, to stop the front wheels fouling the arches when turning added some 23mm extended axles & fitted it with a set of ZD #8477 wheels which have around 25mm of offset giving it a track width 70mm wider than standard.

Well seeing as the weather has improved thought I would get the Wide Body Savage out for a test run. This was the 1st time this truck has been out since it was built some 2 months ago. I have just changed the diffs from plastic case single bevel gears to alloy cases with spider bevel gears. front & rear diffs are running on 40k oil which seems to work good and as yet not showing any signs of leaking I must say it runs pretty good & diffs seem to be holding up well. Gearbox seems to be shifting really early but that can be sorted out no problem.
The paint on the body is pretty shite and flaked off on the roof after the 1st stack but was a cheap 2nd-hand pre-painted shell so not to bothered there.
The main thing I liked about this truck was the fact that it is almost impossible to flip it over when cornering. Which really anit no surprise to me as it is almost 100mm wider than a stock Savage. Brakes are great, only using a single disk but locking all 4 wheels when needed.
The main thing is, that it came home in a working condition with no breakages although pretty dirty, A condition you don't see my trucks in very often.
