wheels and nuts

the question will they work with these hex nuts?

So you bought wheels without knowing what they fit? Not smart, lucky for you they are 17mm hex. So yes, they will work....

Those say nothing about working on a savage so I have doubts they are right

Like anything if you do not do the research first and just buy a bunch of parts you will most always have things that just do not work together....

Those should work. Appears the flux and normal savage use the same hex. Those are from the manual:
hex: #86804
nut: #Z680

And they work just fine if you don't allow them to loosen and strip the hex. Been running my stock set for 8 or 9 years and they are still in good condition.

Well, you said yours were stripped... wasn't real sure why you were going for some aftermarket thing when $ is limited.

To make mine last longer, I cut the end of my hex wrench off flat so it bites more of the nut:

A normal nut driver on the left and one I cut the end off of on the right. This really helps with those HPI wheel nuts.
