Truckzilla revival!

So long story short, got a bit of a soft spot for the old truckzilla kits (I know they wasn’t rated that great) but there’s just something about them for me. I regret selling my old Savage 25 with the 46 conversion.

Anyway, I managed to get myself an almost complete Truckzilla converted savage off a well known member here Gazzman. The plan is to complete the .46 Truckzilla conversion and keep as a shelf queen as trying to find bits are getting rare, and when you do find them the prices can be questionable.

Anyway here is how she sits at the moment when I picked it up, have stolen Gazzman’s photos he sent me as I still need to make room on a shelf for this, I believe the spec/upgrades are as follows:

-HB Truckzilla extended chassis

-HPI K5.9 big block with 12mm roto start

-HB Truckzilla UFO wheels, 7” Psycho tyres

-16T racing clutch bell

-52T HD spur gear

-HPI GT Gigante Body shell

-Savage XLSuper HD wide axles

-Savage XL 11mm shafts

-Savage XL diff output cups

-V2 upper and lower wishbones

-V2 Diffs 29/9 metal diffs

-V2 shock towers

-V2 Diff bulkheads

-V2 Radio Box

-V2 Front/Rear bumper set

-V2 Savage X skid plates

-V2 Heavy duty turnbuckles

-V2 Twin disc brake

-v2 Half metal servo saver

-Innovative-RC ultra HD rear drive shaft

-Standard shocks running 35wt

Plan is to find an original Hot Bodies .46 7.4cc big underpowered motor, mount, pipe.

Well still got plenty as you saw, so like I said you know where to come if you do decide to but another one to use. All my trucks are in the same condition so you know you'd be getting a good one bud.👍😜

Yeah I see some nice trucks, but won’t be looking this side of Christmas, this one and the other engine has taken a dent on me lol

So all in complete (exhaust pipe spring now modded to fit correctly) This is how it’s standing and looking

Managed to source the old original HPI A712 Optional alloy shocks in good condition. These are the pics from the seller, once they arrive I’ll change out the oil and get them on.

Also managed to get a 3 speed transmission with these so will strip and clean that up then get that fitted.

I’ve fallen in the loop hole 😂, just wanted an old truckzilla (teenage memories of always wanting it once it was released).

Now I’m spending money I don’t have on original rare shiny bits I can’t say no too! However this is almost exactly how I wanted it back in the day.

Then it will all start over again looking for the TwinZilla version 😂

Haha no no this one is enough for me, like I say just had the urge to try and find one but never thought I would end up with one in such good condition and then finding an unused engine to complete the original conversion.

I’ll be using my Arrma infraction once the weather dries up a bit, this Truckzilla staying in looking pretty in the warm and going nowhere lol.

LOL, Make that eleven sitting on the shelf. Yep been through the parts bin again and well build number 12 in looking like it will happen. Can't see it being finished by the end of the year but if it is that will make 1 every month this year.
Basically the parts I'm short of at the moment are:
1 x diff casing
1 x front drive shaft
1 x steering servo
2 x skid plates
2 x steering hubs
Fuel tank mounts
Gearbox

Well the parts arrived, will get some new shock oil as apparently they been sat a while but not leaked so will change it anyway. Even managed to source the original shaft dust cover boots but they are coming from Italy so once arrived I’ll get these on and fitted to the truck.

Opened up the 3 speed and all seems to be in good condition too. Will carry out the swap over tomorrow.
