I'm thinking about upgrading to a os30 or rb28 engine. With the increased power does anyone forsee any problems with the strock transmission holding up. I see on ebay they offer titanium gear upgrades but not sure if its really needed or not. Any opinions are appreciated.

OH yeah its a savage25 model if that helps.

Don't by ti gears. At one point I had more titanium than most would even think of. Knowing what I know now and a whole lot of money,it's not worth it. I have yet to hear someone fry a 3 speed do to an RB .28 or bigger. However HPI does sell aftermarket gears STEEL but thin for the tranny. I use them in the 2 speed tranny. Buy the 3 speed for a fact and look at this kit for the RB. You get the RB .28 an engine mount and a matched pipe from RB all for $309. RB makes awesome quilty products. By the way this kit is also on their site.

Hey thanks for the links and the advice. I don't wanna throw money down the toilet any more than the other guy. As far as the RB goes would u recommend the 728 or the 928? Also can u get a rotostart adapter for the RB728 or 928? Last question. For major power combined with reliability would u recommend RB over the OS30? Or what about this axial .32(never heard any good or bad on that engine)? THanks again.
