Went through my junk drawer and gathered all the pieces foe a pull start and for the first time I successfully got the spring to rewind and in it's home. I've replaced plenty of strings (I use Mason line with a thin coat in wax) but when the spring pops they go in the drawer. Looks like I have all the parts for 8 more but 1 is enough for now
