Tired of one way bearing failures is there a better option

Is there a fix to eliminate the one way bearing for the roto start . I can get maybe 20 starts out of mine before they free spin and I have to pull the engine and clean it or replace it . I thought I saw a post about drilling and pinning the bearing to the shaft so it is always engaged to the shaft . I have a k4.6 motor in mine .

You may be cranking it too long... my OWB's last me many years without much issue, unless they are cold and gummed up from me not running the engine dry previously.

Does yours have the owb inside the engine or outside?

Mine is on the outside of the engine
