Spur gear slipper pad material

Being that it is near impossible to find new HPI parts, can anyone tell me what material I can use on the spur gear for a slipper pad? I was thinking maybe rubberized gasket paper. But if someone has a better idea, I'm open for suggestions. Thank you.

There’s slipper clutch pads available on eBay right now

Make sure to sand the plate. Tightened all the way down. Should last long then. HPI said to back it off. I've made pads from gasket also sandpaper. Also have glued it solid before. Whatever to make it work when you have no parts
