Why?

Why do we insist on using crappy glow starters? They lose charge, barely have enough average power to make a cold plug glow and most types give us little idea of what's happening with the glow plug.

Most of my chargers are not able to charge single cells. Most glow starter chargers are slow.

I'm guilty of it myself. I own a million of these NiMH glow starters. It seemed easier just spend £10 on a new one rather than fix or replace an individual cell.

After 35 years - there's a much better way of doing it.

Shout out to World Championship Products.com for getting this item to me in the UK. I highly recommend them.

USB C chargeable, battery condition checker - 18650 Lithium Ion cell - replaceable.

Glow plug condition indicator.

As the voltage is regulated, it should give a consistent 1.5v to the glow plug throughout the charge of the 18650. According to the instruction leaflet, this is a 3.7v 1600mah cell.

And look - they even included a micro USB to USB C adapter - so that even boomers can charge it up! 😝👌

The inbuilt USB C charging circuit is happy with 5v at 1A maximum current. It basically sorts itself out on that and stops charging automatically once the cell voltage exceeds 4.05V.

Bottom line: This is where it's at. Buy right buy once. Spend to save. 😎

As a note - this glow starter is generally aimed at people starting Trucks and Buggies on a starter box. Therefore, it does not grip the glow plug - the user applies downwards pressure during starting and the glow starter is freely removed.

When pull starting, the glow starter will still require holding.

Do like the look of your g/starter but for years have used a wired type with crocodile clips & a 12v motor bike battery which works for me, each to there own I guess! 👍🏻

I think the cool thing is the voltage is regulated, so it will deliver the right voltage throughout the cell's discharge curve. 👍

The alloy/carbon design is really nice too. 🤩

Take it they only do a starter box version though Horatio?
They don't do a grippy version - it's spring loaded, but it doesn't stay on without downward pressure.

TBH, this doesn't bother me for the Savage, as I always keep one hand on the truck during starting anyway - pullstart or rotostart. 👍

£58 including shipping and tax. 🤩👌
Nice n that’s wot I fergot t ask bro wo metal rod did u use on throttle upgrade ? I’ve used bike spoke fo now but gunna change it n wonna put ballend threaded n nut n bolt tbh even 1st attemp still crazy how much diffrance it makes but wonna av it perfect Yano

I'm pretty sure I used threaded piano wire from Sussex Model Center - material more commonly associated with linkages for aircraft etc.

The revised over-ride and sliders made such a difference.
