Savage xl shell/body where and what fits?!

Hey guys i made a post a few weeks ago about buying a XL on ebay, it came yesterday and is a absolute animal with the lrp.30 in it but the seller built it from scratch and never added body mounts/posts and therefore never had a shell and I'm having a hell of a "where's waldo" time locating any shells that could possibly fit , my LHS literally laughed at me when i went in there asking for ANY hpi parts for my xl and truggy can anyone link me or steer me in the right direction for a decent shell painted or not that will fit? Most any of the larger bodys will fit that truck, Proline makes the F 650 Ford and a few others the GMC TopKick looks great on a savage that you can make fit, also most of the shortcourse bodies will also fit... Look At Team Blue Groove on E bay , they aslo repop many of the older bodies that are out of production...

All in all there is no shortage of body types to look at.....

That is just a small sampling of what you may be looking for, one tip I have to add is just make sure it is a 1/8 body and then trim to fit your rig, most are unpainted so thats gonna be up to you to do but the effort into making your rig your own is half in the paint job you decide to go with....

Great post! I'm going to sniff through those rightnow i like the idea of SC bodies alot aswell i seen a monster energy shell on ebay Thankyou!!

Now that the XL Flux is out that body fits as well as the octane body. Most T-max & MGT bodies fit as well. Comparing your wheel base and length measurements to the Bodies you are looking for. Also, it's lexan & most bodies can be trimmed to fit! Do your home work and you will find bodies that are not labeled as fitting the Savalge XL but do.
