To be brutally honest you can pickup a new engine for the price of a piston and sleeve to rebuild your K4.6 engine, keep in mind there are bearings and a rod to consider when doing a rebuild, most LRP .28's and others are about 160 bux and i am betting a rebuild will be that much at least..... may as well just spring for a brand new one and enjoy the truck even more than before......

Considering the price and great reviews of the LRP.28, I would buy that and swap. Even if you swap out a new piston you would have to do some form of non stressed break in for the new parts. I wouldn't run it flat out straight away.
