had a problem with my savage. The front wheels were just spinning up when under load. Originally thought would be the rear diff to fault but after coming across a post in a different forum found it was the wheels. The driveshafts we're spinning in the wheels plastics. Ended up with a bit of loctite/extra strong super glue to hold the nuts in the wheels and now have full drive again. Proper happy now. Tempted on fitting a reverse gear now. Are they worth doing? Little project for me to do in spare time and thinking of what else would be worth doing

If the hexes have stripped the wheels then you need to replace the wheels, or your troubles will continue. Also make sure the wheel nuts are properly tightened, when loose that is what causes the wheels to strip.

As far as reverse goes, I'm not a fan. You have to be careful with them or problems occur.

Yeah I am going to was just eliminating the things that was causing it. Is there metal wheels that you can get that would prevent this from being an issue? I always check the wheels before I go out with it. I'm not overly bothered about reverse just a pain sometimes if it's further away and gets stuck lol. Thanks for the advise though

There are aluminum wheels out there, but in my oppinion they aren't a great choice. Due to how most people bash their savages those wheels wouldn't last long as they would get dented easily.

Just keep the wheel nuts tight. I've yet to strip a set of wheels.

Yeah well the person who had this before must of destroyed it. It's my first nitro RC and it's been a nearly complete rebuild. New OWB, starting pin, screws for the chassis that was all wrong so learning as I go along and fixing his mistakes.

Believe me, there are many on this site who would share your troubles. Truth of the matter is alot of people drive these RCs like they are $50 throw aways.

This is a good opportunity though. You probably got it for cheap, you can take it apart and learn how it all works and you get a good excuse to upgrade a bunch of stuff!

yeah I have already stripped it down. Changed loads so just getting a few bits to do it better. Been looking at the 3 speed transmissions Aswell. Learnt loads about them and getting the lads at work involved lol
