From the very original savage 21 brake set up with various upgrades over the years from single & twin metal brake discs to the newer HPI red version & also having hitec & savox servos including brake linkage mod fitted have never had great stopping power.
Have always thought the braking arm post was made to short to link up to main linage rod & was playing around yesterday with bending this brake post to almost 45’.
The difference this has made is before when applying brakes with truck free rolling would come to a stop but you could still move truck forward with force, now the wheels totally lock up with not being able to move wheels & for first time may even have to back off servo trim to stop truck doing cart wheels when braking!
