Hey all

Stripped a tranny gear, wondering if it may have something to do with the slipper disc maybe set seized from sitting for a couple of years without use. Maybe I should loosen the clutch spring when not in use. Open to suggestions.

Regards,
Rob.

Never thought to snap a pic…will remember that when the new gear comes in and I commence the tear down. I just remember not having high gear 2 years ago when last running it. I also remember having to replace the slipper disc pad, if I’m naming it correctly, a few times from running in higher resistance areas like longer than normal grass. When I split the tranny last week to diagnose, I noticed that the slipper disc(metal) was a bit adhered to its friction counterpart. Obviously not stuck intentionally but by sitting on a shelf for a couple of years with the spring pressure on it. Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen or if I need to look for other causes. Also , I would appreciate someone recommending a good Canadian source for parts at reasonable prices.

Regards,
Rob
