Savage 25 running again

I just pulled my 2 complete savage 25s out of storage. I took them to the local hobby shop and he told me he could not get any parts. They needed gas tanks at least and it was not worth trying to get them running. I don’t wanna believe him so here I am. I’m thinking if I can source, gas tanks, fuel lines, glow plugs, and air filter and batteries they should run the motors spin freely. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

I suspect that your local hobby store either doesn't care to try and help you (per Vinni's comment) or he can't get HPI parts through his distributor - either way your assumption is spot on.

HPI lists the Savage fuel tank (87149) as a current part - although it is not currently in stock in their warehouse and is listed as being "on backorder" on Amain Hobbies website.
