Savage 21 engine replacement advice

I have a savage 21, it’s been on the shelf for about 15 years. Everything besides the engine functions as it should. I want to buy a new engine for it but I am having a hard time finding what I’m looking for. I want a good reliable motor. My original motor was always a pain to get started and very quirky. It’s shot now. Does anybody know of a motor that will fit in my truck and is reliable, easy to start and keep running?

any of the available big block engines out on the market will fit your rig fine, you will need the flywheel and clutch parts, nut washers etc to fit to your choice of new engines.....

yes Novarossi is also good, just make sure any engine you choose is either pull start or roto start capable

I have a 21 that I got off my buddy and was only started once and I need to complete the break in so I am not ready for a motor yet but when u say u need the fly wheel and clutch parts where and how do you know that you are getting the right parts you need I am new to this as you all know that have posted on some of my threads

a simple search of E Bay or Amazon for said parts will get you right to what you will need, you can usually find the flywheel,clutch shoes/springs, and nut and washers all in a bundle for a decent price if you look around......

see what I am talking about, lots of options, just stay with parts for the 21,25,4.6 SS Etc, the Octane and the GPM sliding clutch will of course be much different and most likely not be a direct bolt up

So just look for the parts needed for the size motor you have like if u have a novarossi just look for the size n brand parts neede for that engine size
