Can you confirm the P/N of these? I did a 3 speed tranny to flux conversion but some parts I'm thinking of may be different to what you've mentioned

Hi

The parts I linked too, are case hardened gears, they SHOULD be stronger then stock gears.

I'm pretty certain the parts I listed will replace gears you are after - and they are very good!
I've had them in my flux for ages and I've never had an issue at all with them. The only thing I'm stripping is my diffs - tranny holds up pretty well.

If you can I'd look into getting these parts
Instead of those parts I used these:

HPI-86274
HPI-86275
Well worth it imho!

I can take pictures of my gear setup in the tranny if you need - it is a 3 speed to single speed converted tranny but it'll be very similar if not the same as the flux hp tranny

Hi

I may get the case hardened gears just to see if they are a viable option, with the dwindaling HPI parts it would be nice to have backup options available.

Hi

I just ordered some tranny parts from RC4ME.US and I am sorely disappointed with them. I have never ordered form them before so I was kind of expecting all the parts I orded to be brand new Hpi parts, but instead I find out they are parts pulled from a RTR Savage. They realy need to let people know that they are a RC CHOP SHOP. The first 3 pictures are what I was expecting to get and the last one is what I got, the pins and clips that come with new parts are missing. If I had known that the clips and pins were not inclouded I would have bought them somewhere else. As it is I now have to by those missing parts separately with the money I save shopping with RC4ME.US .

Just curious, what makes you think they are a chop shop? All the stuff I got from them was new. None of the plastics had threads cut into them yet.

Hi

I was expecting brand new parts in there original HPI packaging, but instead they come in little zip lock baggies. The 3 pictures above show what should have come with what I ordered if they were brand new in there original HPI packaging. If the parts are not coming from torn down RTR's then that means they are opening up new packaged parts and selling the parts piece by piece. Unless HPI is now selling there parts in zip-lock baggies.

Nobody makes knock off trans gears. I belive that hd upper is discontinued. My gurss is its a flux tranny parted out. You still have what you ordered. What would ofgicial hpi baggies do?

Hi

I am biulding a Savage from the groud up, so thet means I have to get all of the needed parts to biuld it. I was expecting the parts that I ordered to come with the nessasery pieces that would be needed to install the parts properly, and if they had been brand new parts from HPI, the missing pieces would have been in the bag with the parts I ordered. As it is I now have to place another order inorder to get pieces that should have been included with the parts I ordered. If RC4ME.US had mentioned in the discription that those pierces are sold separately, then I could have added them to my order, but the only thing in the discription is the name of the part and the HPI part number, leading me to believe that they were brand new parts in there original packaging.

I just took a look at the review I left on there site for the parts I got and there response does indicate that the parts did come from a RTR Savage Read the Review. So the parts are new but not brand new out of package new.

I'm not dissatisfied with the parts, I'm dissatisfied with the discription. From now on I will be sure to ask before ordering.

Hi

These gears are definitely not mad by HPI! There were two thing I had too do to get them to fit. The first thing I had to do was file down the ends of the two gear so I could gut the clips to go on, next I had to add .8mm worth of shims to take up the gap between the two ideler gears. Now the gears are in place and rock solid on the shafts. Now I just have to wait for the bearings to come in, so I can put the tranny together.

Did they file down easily?

You can't easily file down hardened steel with a standard file... If they did file down easily then it sure as poop isn't hardened steel.
Normal files are themselves, made of hardened steel, if you file hardened steel with hardened steel, both surfaces will get damaged. In fact, the file will be MORE damaged than the piece due to the smaller surface area of the file.

Can confirm this is true, just checked with the lead mechanical engineer at my work.

Hi

I used 320 grit sand paper to file the ends down about 1 or 2 thousandth inorder to get the clips to go on , as for how hard they are, I can only go by what they where advertised as and that was case hardened.
