I've yet to do it with the savage but it worked very well on my Banshee.
Take a pair of womans Nylons and cut them into tubes place a knot in one end and oil just like a filter. As for closing the open end just use a twisty tie form a garbage or bread bag it will hold it tight and no cutting come change time! As it gets dirty pull of the stocking and put on a new one.
This will increase your service life of the filter and add run time between cleanings. win/win situation
This should cost less than 5 buck and make around 25-30(<----Guess) of them. Also could be free if you have a mom or wife. Ask them to donate their old hose when they get runs and they would just toss them out! <----ASK GUYS DON"T TAKE, they hate this hobby enough... PS I know!!! Refer to banshee top of page....
