Ok guys I'm looking to do a new body. Just want something simple as I am just going to destroy it anyway. But I am looking for a burnt orange color but cant seem to find any so I was going to do a first and passable second coat of a Orange them should I do a 3 and passable 4th coat of black or red or maybe even a brown or something like that.

What do you guys think?

Get a really bright orange. Blaze orange or the like. Just super bright pastel color.

Next, get a brushable bright green. It cannot have a yellow base, or it'll come out ugly as snot.

Get a thin coat of the orange and don't let it dry overnight. Maybe, 2 hours? After the paint cures, you're SOL.

Now, take the brushable green (I love faskolor paints for this) hand brush over the orange so it bleeds into it. If you make the right thickness, you'll get that famed burnt orange coloration.

I know many color combinations, but one thing I don't is the quality of your paint. High quality paint = high quality colors, remember that.

Now, before you even try this, you need to perfect your color. Cut some of the body flashing off, then paint it to your liking. You may want to go with two coats of orange (since it will retain more brightness.). The best green to probably use would be, lime, or accent green.

As for that though, I love making my own really custom colors. I'm sure if you do look hard enough though, you can find the perfect color in a paint, or a fizz can. 🙂

Remember, I hand brush the second coat on all my bodies. It helps the bleeding process. I used to only use fizz cans and/or airbrush. But, since I'm gonna destroy them anyway, I might as well brush them.

If you're going to airbrush, A mix of red/orange and a tad of brown will get a decent burnt color of orange.

Also, if you're going cans, let me look for the link I used to use for color selections. I know automotive replicolors are REALLY good in lexan bodies. You could always go that route as well. 🙂
