As for you question, here is how you adjust 3rd gear:
The access hole is on the side of the transmission under a rubber cover. When you look inside you have to rotate the gears so that you can see the screws on the clutch pack.

Here is what the clutch looks like:


Remove one grubb screw and then you will have access to the adjustment screw. Make sure to adjust in small increments. When you are done apply loctite to the grub screw so the adjustment screw does not back out.
