Hi,

I have been reading through the mnual for the sensor radio, the part that doesn't look like a lot of fun is installing the tach. It is made up of a sensor board with a magnetic pick up and 2 maggnets. the magnets have to be mounted facing oppsite poles and 180 degrees apart anywhere after the output side of the transmission.

I have been lookin and I think a good place may be on the part on the front side of the transmission (the part the dogbones slides into) there is a plastic sleeve the grub screw goes through around the part. I was thinking about countersinking 2 spost on this plastic and epoxying the magnets in with JB weld. I think that may hold it. Then I think the sensor board can be JB welded to the 2 mounting points that are there for the reverse module linkage shaft.

Has anyone had any experiance with this? Any ideas?

Whatever I end up doing I will photo and document for the forum. then see how long it is till I loose a magnet. The tach isn't a big deal to me but I already have everything I need on its way so I will give it a try.

Thanks for any advice,

John

I have to write a little something on this Nomadio Sensor. I just took it out today for the first time, It is day and night from the stock radio I was used to.

First thing I noticed while running the car was the response from the controls, I didn’t notice the lag before but I did right away with this radio. When you touch the trigger it responds, I cannot believe how different it feels.

Next, well next I noticed the temp sensor readings and compared it to the IR gun, I just wedged the sensor in the first place I tried between some of the fins on the cooling head, the readings were about 20 degrees off and stayed that way till operating temp, you can watch the engine heat and cool as you coast, it updates very fast.

I also noticed the steering right away, I have much better turning radius with this radio, I used the default settings for steering which works well in the savage but you can adjust many settings on all the servos such as Duel rate, expo, trim and sub trim, and end points. Expo sets the sensitivity curve so it can be more liner or it can be less or more responsive at the beginning of the steering or end. The end points allow you to set how far the servo travels going in each direction, actually I will link the manual I you want to read about this, but you can set any servo to move just about where ever you want it.

Not to mention features, like auto start, idle up, fail-safe’s for all servos are built into the tx and rx and fully programmable from the tx, antilock brakes, oh and speed and lap timers just to name a few.

This is one amazing radio, it is the best radio I have for sure. Well I have a Futaba 9ch, and the rest are stock ones, but it blows them all away..

Check out the manual and the software, you can install and run it without the radio, you will get an idea of the features.
