So I started this build about this time last year, I finished it about 6 months ago. Long story short, long time ago I got an old savage 21 in a trade for an Xbox 360 (POS). Went to the hobby store ask what I could do to make track ready. Then the manger and I got in to a heated argument about how I should have bought a Revo. Scraped the Savage 21 and started doing research. So a year after planning, half a year of building… Here we are.

Stock revo vs. one bad#@& ready to race savage, that guy would not have a chance! Nice work!

PRC tvp's ands LCG shock towers.

"How many minutes are you getting with the tank?"

About 7, the DPS seems to use less gas now that it has a turbo plug.

"So how much was it?"

about $2,200.
 
The fuel tank mounts to the original mounts. They fit the fuel tank just fine but i have to grind them down a bit to fit the PRC chassis. The PRC tvps seem to a mid-tank mod only kind of frame.

No Vids, i don't have a video recorder.
 
Nice build bro, Very clean and looks light and fast. How well does the CB TVP plates hold up? I bash more than race. It is a hard choice considering they cost just as much as the FLM but, they are cooler looking. lol I am more worry about strenght than lightness.
 
Nice truck. I have a 1000.00 dollar Revo it was my first truck and now I have two Savage and I'm building another one so let that speak for itself. HPI Rocks!!!!!!!hpisfoldskool
 
How are the rear D8T shocks on the savage? Are they better than the Hpi big bores? And how do they hold up to bashing?

They hold up just as well if not better then the FLM TVP's. They are a little more forgiving because they have the ability to flex. I love them, i would replace them if they broke (prob never will), or put them on another build.

Very well, there are very few tracks in MN, all of which are two hours or more from where i live. I mostly bash right now because i don't have time to get out to the track. The D8T shocks hold up just as well. I fell it will be harder to bend a shaft with the because their shorter, but you give up some of the handling characteristics of larger you want for bashing (i get Chassis slap on mid-sized to large jumps).

Also how well do the CF shock towers flex I had flm towers and the first flip broke my diff housing, I just want the to flex a little

They are thicker & shorter then the TVP's so they will not flex any where near as much. They will not produce the results you want, however the FLM shock towers will bend far before the PRC's Snap. I'd say stick with the FLM shock tower because you have them, but try the Flux bulkheads.
 
So I have finally burnt out the engine. I will be needing a new one. I have put a lot more upgrades into it but I have started a new project for my brother. I'm building a basher. So that means I need a cheap engine. Any ideas?
