I have no clue what this would help other than to maybe get the fuel to the plug easier. I also believe that the guys that have been given credit to with this article are part of this forum as well (Maximo, supertib).

Somebody tested this beffore. I forgot what mag, but they did three different variations of the button mod and one of them showed a very slight increase. Very slight and it wasnt the one in the pic. That one didnt do anything. The one taht added power had some fangs in it as well.

It was XRC that did it. All thwey did was add three small cuts at the front in line and it had a small improvement and it was only seen on the X-dyno. You couldn't tell in the vehicle on the ground.

the reason this mod worked so well on this motor is because the stock button was very poorly designed with too small of a combustion bowl !!! this mod was more of a fluke then anything else !!

this is something simliar I found

3 grooves with one lined up over exhaust

note: I have never tried it

I've tried this with the F4.6 and found it not to be worth it. It drops your compression and even removing shims didn't help. I started to predetonate bad. I did two lines basicly front to back with a dremel cutoff wheel. The idea is to store and carry the flame from the glowplug. It also creates heat on the sharp edges leading to predetonation. I ended up buying a new head button shortly after. May work with smooth edges but why drop the compression in my opinion.

imho its not worth even attempting in the first place do to most ppl here bash and even with the mod done after a while("X" amount of fuel") run threw it you might lose some compression with the extra cuts in the button just remember that you want as much compression as possible without the possibility of pre-detonation which will destroy a mill like sand would

I have tried a few of them, with little to no gains.

The design is to improve the burn.............thats it.

search Mr Singes head design, he uses this on 1:1 cars
