Hey guys, just wonering. When doin the pinch test to check the low speed setting (I've never done it this way before). Should I pinch the line right at the fitting on the carb or a little ways away from the fitting? I just wanna do some double checking on all my settings.

i just pinch it anywere i wont get burnt!! lol and my revs speed up for a sec then it stalls which is what its supposed to do!!

I also grab around an 1nch to 2nch of the inlet. And usually revs up for about 2 seconds then dies so about 3 seconds total time of pinching the tube.

I don't think it really matters. They say "close to the carb", but if you think about it, when you pinch the fuel line hard you are actually stopping the flow of fuel. You can actually hold liquid in a freely suspended pipe with open ends. As long as you block off the upper most end, then the liquid can't move, it's the same princible with your fuel line.

Yeah but for measuring how many secs it takes to die. If you pinch the fuel line 5inches away from the carb than of course it's gonna idle longer ,it has more fuel to use up. The way the pinch test was designed was to pinch it a inch away from the carb inlet. There is also so the punch test you can try. I normally try both just to see how one holds up to the other. That is just making a WOT pass then let it idle 10-15secs, punch the throttle. Do this till you get your best smoothest luanch out of the hole. A rule of thumb is when the engine is warmed up, bring it in to let it idle watch for the temp. The temp should drop while idleing around a degree every 1-2 secs.
