led lights for night driving

Has anyone installed any type of lights on your RC?....I pretty much can only run my Savage at nighttime when I get home from work and take my dog to the park...I tryed putting some kind of light (Rear Bicycle light) on it so I can see it... worked ok...the next day I found some LED lights..they are flat strips that have adhesive on the back...I kept the little battery box that comes in the package so you can try out the lights, I just added a small on/off switch....anyone have an alternative way to power the lights?...can I connect it to something already on the truck so I can eliminate the small battery box?

@Killer RC sells a light controller that would allow you to control the lights from your transmitter. You could also run the lights off the receiver battery if you wanted.
