I have an Axial .32 that I’m having a heck of a time getting a good tune on. I’m leaning out the high end and I’m doing some WOT runs and it seems to running lean but the temps never get above 200f. Is it possible to run lean and also not get high temps?
I swear this engine is driving me to drink and I don’t need much encouragement.
Thanks for any help!!

Where measuring the temp?

How many turns different is it on the hsn from stock setting?

don't tune according to temp but by sound and performance.

What do you call lean?

How's the smoke trail?
The smoke trail seems pretty good... it seems to be a little boggy on the low end then lean on the high end.
I’d lean the low end out more, but, it’ll idle at about 15 mph if I do.

I’m measuring temp from the glow plug.

it’s about a full turn and a half from base settings.

I feel like I could get a lot more out of this engine with a correct tune.

I fell like lean is where it sounds like it’s struggling to get fuel.

thanks for any help.

check idle gap (somewhere between 0.5-1.0mm) and reduce idle gap as lean lsn. Typical paper clip is about 1mm.

check clutch shoes/springs arent dragging on clutch bell

there's a difference between bogging and lean. maybe watch some youtube to get a feel.

but usually if temps arent getting above 200f then it is on rich side.

a new engine takes time to break in. don't go immediately full throttle.

Also, your HSN ultimately determines the final tune, including LSN. That's why they always say to tune your HSN first then LSN. Another thing to consider is your glow plug? How old or how fuel has been ran on it? If thevplug is startin to die, it won't completely ignite the fuel.
