So I got a savage 25 got it running all good. Now I need steering bellcrank bearings. Where to buy them.
Savage #2 is a 21 it needs to be put back together. It needs some mounting hardware like header spring throttle return spring screw for servo arm to crab. And the hangers for the dual exhaust can at the rear shocks. Anywhere to buy parts in w bundle to save shipping?
Also does anyone have a manual. With a parts list and a workshop manual? I have a runner 25 what's really different with a 21? How does a 21 run compared to a 25?

I don't think a whole lot is different. Perhaps shock springs, the engine obviously and I think the diffs have 4 spider gears vs the original 21 having 2 spider gears. Maybe machined diff ring gear, but not 100% sure about that. They both came out before the newer "bulletproof" diff gears came out.

I believe the bearings were just 6x10x3. Been a long time since I bought them. You can pick those up from fast eddy:
    http://www.fasteddybearings.com/6x10x3-rubber-sealed-bearing-mr106-2rs/

The manual pages should be on HPI's site. For the older 21 savage, I think they just had a list of images vs a single pdf with all the pages. I have them all saved on my PC. If you can't find them on their site, let me know and I'll upload them and post links.

WoodiE posted some good info on the Savage 25 here. The Savage 25 manual and parts list are found in the referenced thread. Dave

So my second savage 25 is not opening the throttle fully. Is there a adjustment?

Depending on the remote you have, I would look at the the throttle dual rate and trim settings. Also check your throttle linkage for binding and adjust it so it can move the full intended throw. Perhaps try removing the servo horn on your throttle servo and see if you can manually open it fully with the linkage.

I don't know what model the remote is but its a traxxas I have it set just before it starts to change the idle with that knob.

For the bellcrank bearings question, if you go on FullforceRC.com they have a lot of great stuff there for cheap. A set of bellcrank bearings is $4. For example I picked up 8 progressive springs for $6, and they look very cool in green ;)

With the progressive springs.... What does that do for the truck? If really lime to make mike truck wider. My buddy has a xl with either offset rims or something. That thing is super stable.

So I was actually wrong the springs are also $4 lol for 8. To answer your question basically you get the best of both worlds with progressive springs. The top part of the spring has more coils to give a more plush ride, the middle has more of a middle ground stiffness and by the time you get to the bottom of the spring it is pretty stiff. (least amount of coils and thus harder to compress).

This is good for either on-road driving where you want to reduce body roll, or off-road jumping when you want plush suspension just riding around or jumping to get into that stiff part of the spring. Theyre just great for all around use in my opinion, I'm also putting 35w f and 37.5w rear oil to stiffen it a bit more over stock but thats just preference.

The XL actually uses almost half inch wider axles which give it that stance, I have a set of those actually, the problem I came across is you really want to convert your whole drivetrain to XL if you do that because the stock dogbones are not as beefy as the XLs and will wobble around. I actually bent one and bought regular X axles again because of that.

Ok guys got it really running sweet. First day I had that was about 60 out side. I popped the pivot off the throttle servo. Turned on my receiver and remote. Turned my throttle trim up to half way and put my arm back on. Now it opens fully and really rips good.

Ok so I had a spare .21 engine laying around. So I pulled the 25 out and put it in. This 21 motor rips way better then my 25..... How is that possible? It needed tuned but still way better. I am now thinking of either getting my 25 repinched or getting another motor. I don't want to spend more then 100 and don't really want a roto start motor either. Anyone got a motor they want to sell?

here s an idea on the .25 most come with 4 head shims, some with 3. I always remove 1 shim if there is 4, all mu hpi big blocks have 3 shims. more power. doesn't hurt motor.

I will try that. Removing shims change the trapped volume? Will that work with 20% nitro? I wonder if my 21 has 4 shims or 3

I'm not a fan of traxxas fuel, I stay away from it, I drive 40 miles to get good fuel . everybody sells traxxas because they break so much and they make their money off selling loads of repair parts so traxxas fuel is more readily available. to me its worth going further for better fuel, I usually by 2 gallons at a time

You can get fuels from Horizon Hobby, Tower Hobbies, A Main and others, I buy quarts and is no hazardous fees.... Look for Sidewinder Basher blend 20 or 30 %, I have used it for years now and it never gives me troubles....

Most hobby shops around are horizon. My buddy runs O'Donnell 20% but he says its a race blend and only like 1% oil.

Yes thats true, race blends have less oil in the fuel, I prefer the basher blend at 16% oil tho, it gives peace of mind and really doesnt affect performance much either.....

I prefer more oil too. I would like 14% plus. Icon tune for anything. Now my motor rubs so good I stripped out NY 49 spur. Got a 52 what would that change

I'm actually a fan of the Traxxas nitro fuel. It seems to work just as well as my 20% O'donnell in my S-25 and I like the smell of it better, plus with the blue color its a lot easier to see when you're running low.

Do you think it will change the top end much? It feels plenty fast with a stock bell and a 49.I only had a spare 52 so I started pulling motor to put it in. Someone told me a 21 Trans won't use the same spur as a 25 Trans. It seems to fit normal. My slipper clutch was toasted too. Melted into the spur.
