WOW Judges mid tank is incredible!!!! But in order to do this, do you need to replace the TVP's?? I want to do a mid tank, but $$ is tight and right now I don't want to spend the extra money if I don't have to. Also what is the capacity of the Mugen tank? I would like to get more run time than the stock tank, is this possible?? Is there another type that would be cheaper? I really want to get rid of the half tank lean, and some more weight in the front would help with wheelies (toooo easy to flip!!) Any info is greatly appreciated!!

Hismid tank thread is great. that is what i followed to build mine.
Mugen tank is 150cc. stock tank is 160cc i think.

I don't see why you couldn't do a similar build with stock TVPs.

Here's the basic parts you would need and where I got them from:

From SMF Store:
-FLM 45500 Servo Plate Kit
-FLM 46000 Servo Mount (x2)

From eHobbies:
-CEN FF007 Radio Box

From Ebay:
-Mugen MBX5T Fuel tank, mounts, filter, hardware

You would have to drill holes for the servo plate's rear crossmember and for the throttle servo mount, but other than that everything should fit the same...the FLM chassis isn't extended up front, so there should be the same amount of room as stock.

The Mugen tank is 150cc, it gives me 8-10 minutes of runtime. I have yet to find a bigger tank that fits next to the CEN box, it fills all the space up front as it is.

To mount a servo in the rear you need to add to the tvps not just drill... Ill get a pic of my stock tvped mid tank up. Need to take one. None in CPU ATM

Is that Mugen an actual kit fom e-bay? I found a LHS here that has just the tank, would I need more than that?

No kits here all mix and match parts

For your steering servo you will have to mount the servo as Judge did in this link. The FLM TVPS has a mount point he didn't use. Sweet for this stock tvp question you posed....

As for the throttle Ill get you pics up on this post. Ill see about tonight. I also have a vid I made for jester to answer these questions too.

Note: I'm not a hack. This is my basher and its all spare parts This was a mock up I just ran instead of finishing. I only had to buy one diff to build this out of a box of parts. then added that mill...
But Ill take all the comments in stride. (If the hardware does not bother you you may be a hack...)

Blue box is the added plate. Red screws retain the plate. Green retain the servo mounts Judge posted below

The only reason I didn't do the same cen mod is I don't like the air filter out to the side. I prefer it up under the roll bar out of harms way. I've never hit a raido box that is side mounted.

I found out with Judges mid tank /cen the air filter can go under the roll bar. so now I'm all for it!

byron, reach out to hpisf member larson racing. he sells a carbon fiber servo plate with the hardware so you can add a 250cc ofna tank. he did a great thread on it too, real easy to follow. it isnt as tight as the one that judge did, meaning your hump pack & tx wont fit inside the tvp next 2 the tank, but it is a killer mod & will give you that longer run time your cravin'. mtbikertim did a great thread too, very killer savage!

sweet avatar duck. flip back a page & see where Judge says that you may need to drill a couple of holes in the tvp, etc. Larsonracing could tell you for sure, but i believe that anything can fit as long as you have a dremel, a handful of metric drilll bits & taps & a fire extinguisher:chainkiller: :chainkiller: :chainkiller: :chainkiller: :chainkiller:

I'm starting a mid tank just like judge's but I ran into a BIG snag very early! THe servo plate doesn't sit straight on the stock TVP's U can drill the side of the TVP's to get it to fit BUT....... once u have that done the trany case presses up on the servo plate so my pic's. Any Idea's?

As u can see the picture above I will need to drill inbetween the top hole and the bottom hole But.. the trany is in the way see the next pic's any Ideas?

chop cut rebuild.

i would get a marker out and see how much you actually would have to trim to make it fit. i think the reason it works in the flm tvp's si cus the trans is dropped down for the LCG.
