Is this normal?

Hey Guys,

I recently bought myself a second hand 5.9 savage. As i was setting up my radio, i noticed that when i press full throttle, the carb doesn't fully open(it opens at about 4/5). The servo is at its maximum range, but it seems like the linkage is too short or something. The guy I bought the truck from said its all stock. Is the throttle like that on all XLs and what is the way to fix it. Also does it impact my top speed?

yes, it will probably impact performance. have u tried trimming the servo? if so, then u need to reset it.

How exactly do I reset it?

remove the servo horn. then, set the trims to center. put the servo horn back on. then u should have plenty of servo throw to open the carb completely.

If this dorsn'y fix it you will have to shorten the throw arm that attaches to the carby.
It's what I had to to fix this same problem.

mine did the same thing and I had to remove the throttle return spring because the servo is to weak.
