HPI Savage idle needle moves in while driving?!?
History: I've been running Traxxas electric RCs for years, but this is my 1st Nitro RC.
I got a great deal on a HPI Savage SS 4.6 K from a friend of a friend who built the RC from the kit, broke it in, tuned it, and had been running it casually without issues. Since then they got into flying RCs and the Savage was shelved till I purchased it from them.
Once in my possession, I read the manual and watched a large number of HPI tuning videos.
I have removed the engine, cleaned it and the carb, and reassembled everything.
Charged all batteries, put in 22% nitro fuel, got it started but it wouldn't run 10 seconds before stalling out. As per the instructions I reset all the needles to factory settings and began retuning it. After a week of tinkering and tweeking watching more tuning videos I got it running smoothly at all speeds. Though it doesn't do wheelies like I see a lot of others can, I am fairly sure thats a matter of fine adjustments to the high, mid and low speed needles.
Problem: The idle needle moves in while I'm driving it. On its own. And then the Savage wants to keep going unless the breaks are applied and held on. It didn't have this issue while I was going through the tuning phase, but it seems to have developed afterward.
I've searched online for others with this problem, but with no success on finding a solution.
I am seriously contemplating using some low strength lock tite on it, but before I do that, does anyone have suggestions or thoughts on what else could be done?

get some of that, remove the needles and coat the O rings with some, it will help keep them supple and soft enuff to stay put, over time the alcohol in the fuels we use will dry the o rings out and cause just the issue you are having....as for the idle screw is the spring around it missing or collapsed to the point it no longer keeps it where you put it??? you can remove the screw and spring and stretch it some to help it not to move....
