How to get the pins to go in further

How far are the pins suppose to protrude outwards? This is as far as mine will go in.

Maybe just a touch further... try tapping them lightly with a screwdriver handle....

So I found out why the pins won't go in any further. I took the back half off and removed the upper control arm. The receiving hole is out of alignment by a hair. Tried tapping it. Won't go. Thinking to round the end of the pin. Any other suggestions? Thanks

Have you checked the diff housing for damage in that area? If it's out of alignment there must be some damage some where and if so I recommend replacing the whole housing.

Took the back half off. Punch and a rubber mallet. Problem solved.
