I have an Alpha .28 TN5PD which is a 5 port mill. This Argus-28 5P is an exact match to the Alpha in every way . Alpha Plus Model Co make is mill. While both brands are marketed separately, they are produced in the same factory in Taiwan and share identical production lines.

The Alpha-28 TN5PD & Argus-28 5P are widely considered to be excellent "bang-for-your-buck" engine, particularly for bashing and entry-level racing. It sits in a "sweet spot" of performance, offering significantly more power than standard stock (RTR) engines while remaining more affordable than high-end competition engines.

Take it they are a straight drop in like the Force mills were?
What’s better performance/tune wise Force or these & can you fit a rota start back plate to them?

@guinnessdublin Evening Adie, Yes they are a straight replacement on the savage using the standard mount. They look very similar to the force mill aswell. Mine came with the v3 savage roto-start fitted from new. They come as a bump start, a pull-start or a roto-start as standard, all at the same price. Don't know anything about how well they tune as only received it last week & still sitting in it's box. Only ended up with this mill due to the fact that got let down by 3 different ebay shops when trying to purchase a Force .46, all 3 replied after about a week saying there was an issue with the item upon shipping, not sure what that means. So ended up with the Alpha-28, Didn't know anything about it, just bought it.
It does look like a nice mill and seems to have good reviews. What I posted in my previous post about the performance has all been lifted from google AI. When they say it has more power than a standard RTR .46 what they mean is that it has better torque making it better for launching heavier models like the savage. I paid £158 including shipping from the States which i thought was pretty cheap, so am very pleased with it as far as value. Due to the extra torque they are classed as superior to the Force mill, probably due to it being a 5 port & not a 3 like the Force.
If you watched the YouTube video the timing on the crank looks pretty good to.
As for what it will run like, I will probably never know as it will end up in 1 of my shelf queens.

Does the HPI Wand fit into there back plate?

@guinnessdublin Yes the roto-start is exactly the same as the HPI #120277, even has the 2 dipples either side of the centre as the HPI does. When the 2 units are placed together, you can't tell which is which. And as the mill comes with it fitted and these v3s are £25 inc postage from Wheelspin makes the cost of the mill £133, even more of a steal.
And yes as it's an HPI unit the wand fits the same.
