Just wondering if anyone has any comment on these at all?

I was looking to upgrade my stock upper and lower arms and came across these. They look like good quality to me (machined from billet 6061 alloy), but as it says extended .500". Would this mean I would need longer dogbones, or will the stock ones work?

Here is a link to the auction I am looking at bidding on today:

Hi crash,

I thought that I might get this reply =) I have read some of your other posts on here, your reasoning is perfectly justified as the stock plastic should be able to take much more of a bashing as it will flex, where as alloy would bend or crack.. plus plastic parts are much easier to get hold of, and cheaper too!

Although black plastic parts don't exactly look great, they do their job really well.. I just like shiny metal!!

Thanks for your advice mate! We should call you mr plastic =)

i think we all agree that the alum stuff looks amazing but one other thing to keep in mind is that shiny new a-arm wont be looking shiny and new very long!! after a bit of use they get scratched and scuffed up and end up looking almost worse then the stock!! and then theres the weight factor.... the more weight, the harder bashing is on your drivetrain and other areas!! but that being said if your going to go with a bit of alum flm is definately a good choice!!!

RPM makes suspension arms. If you break them, they will be replaced free of charge (and that means you are a freaking awesome since they are so tough). They come in blue, purple, or black. You can get a whole set for around $45 on ebay.

well, if you like shiny metal, and cost is no problem, get the flex tek titanium arms...lifetime warranty...flex instead of bending or breaking...

the downside is that they are around $250 to do all 4 corners...:duh:

I'm compleatly for the Plastic arms.

The Flex-tek's are awsome but almost unafordable. I would really like to hear from someone who really tryed them.

well, I can only dream of running flex tek...I've got RPM on my racer, and have aluminum on my behemoth (that between you and me, is more of a shelf queen than anything)

someone on here had a picture of their racer and they were running the flex tek ones...can't remember who though....

I've actually heard the FLM aluminum arms are extremely strong. I know a guy who runs a LOT of flm stuff on another forum, and he has the upper and lower arms on one of his savages. He bashes pretty hard, and they have never bent or broken. Also, you gotta remember that FLM has the standing gaurantee that if you bend it or break it, they replace it.

The FLM Extended Arm Set comes with extended dogbones, so you don't need to worry about that. Their 'bones are beefy, too. Definitely not cheap, though! $140 at the SMF Store.

Oh, I just checked the auction you linked to! Those are only the "stock replacement" upper and lower arms, not the extended ones. Sorry. Those don't come with dogbones but stock 'bones should work fine.
