Charger same as battery?

I just bought a savage xs off someone and there is a duratraxx onyx 5000mah battery included.

Can i charge it with any LiPo charger or doesnt it have to be duratraxx?

is the battery also a LiPo ? if so most any LiPo charger will work, remember always balance charge also.... good luck with ur new truck

Brands don't make any difference. If its a 5000mah LiPo, make sure to plug in the balancing wire, set to LiPo and 5 amps and you're good

first things first, IS IT A LiPo or is it a NiMH type battery... and a couple pix of what ya have would help alot
A LiPo requires a balance lead, a NiMH does not....

So its a 5000mah LiPo then. The big plug with the two wires is the main plug/wires, and the small plug with the small wires is the balancing wire. Make sure that is plugged into the correct port on the charger when you charge it.
And make sure its set to LiPo, up to 5 amps. Then you're good to go. Brand makes no difference

Ok that's cool. Thanks guys..... I got a used savage xs and looks really good except for one thing.... I don't think the fan on the ESC is working. I don't see it more and don't hear anything... What's could be the problem???

Fan doesn't matter as long as the esc stays cool. If it starts getting hot while you're running it, (Check it often!!!) then fix the fan

NO! Get a better one with adjustable amperage. You can spend $35 and get one that will charge up to a 6 cell LiPo, .1 to 5 amps, LiPo, NiMH, nicd, pb.

That one does two batteries at once even if they're different types. But it only does up to 3s LiPo. Which is fine, the one you have is a 2s.
It may be quite expensive but it is a quality charger.

Well I suppose the Traxxas one will work, but I think you should find one with some more features. I can't tell you how many times I've said, "man I wish I had gotten the one that does THIS also"
A good charger is definitely worth the time and money, you just cannot rc without a good charger that charges all different kinds of batts.

UUUMMMMM maybe caz is only a dc charger....... you will been a 12 v battery or a power supply to operate it correctly......

You will have to know the post and barrel size for the connector as well. Hopefully you have a caliper you can use, because even .1mm off can get you the wrong connector.

and ya are still gonna need a power supply and it looks like the balance plugs for that unit...... otherwise looks like a good unit for your needs

try looking at some of those, your unit looks to have the adapter that plugs in the back and has alligator clips to go to the power supply.....

You can get them all over the place. What you want is a AC to DC transformer. It looks like a package attached to an AC wall connector. Then it has a cord attached to a barrel connector, which plugs into your charger. You need to know what voltage your device needs, which it looks like 12VDC. And you will need to know which barrel connector it needs, as I was saying in my above post.
