Center Skid Plate

Whats the point of getting a Center Skid Plate?
I'm thinking about getting one, but what will it do? How does it help?

they help do keep sticks and rocks from coming up and doing damage.. just the other day I had a small rock wedge between the motor mount plate and the flywheel and I thought my engine seized.... They look cool but, there is added weight when u mount it

Also they protect the brakes I've bent several brake disks before I put them on my trucks.

most center skids are soild so that sticks and such cant get up in their and cause damage. i would sugest that when you get one it not have openings for that stuff to get in.

i have the rpm centre plate. doesthe job keeping bits out of the transmission, and keeps dirt out of the brakes.

Integy makes a solid one thats good protection and lightweight too.

i think you need a hole in the skid plate so if water comes the the holes in the chassis it will drain out. i made my own skid plate it is more fun and cheaper!!

i agree with a drain hole just not a plate that looks like swiss cheese. should be mostly soild to protect parts. is that not the reason why most of us put them on our trucks
