Ok everyone ... i want to get my truck up and running asap...
I'm going to need help buying everything necessary for my motor upgrade after my recent crash causing my motor to ] ... Because i am new to everything electric on this side of the savage, I'm going to need some help... :bigsmilie:

List of what i need and what i have already made my mind up on... if you can make recomendations or give me your opinions that would be much appreciated.

- Neu-Castle 1520 1Y 1600kv :smiliejam: (do these motors come with bullet connectors already attached to them? or would i need to solder my own on so i can hook it to the ESC???

-Turnigy Pure-Silicone Wire 10AWG (1mtr) BLACK (goes from motor to ESC, is this adequate?)

- I know i need 6.5mm bullet connectors for the ESC... Are these correct?

- CC Blower Fan Shroud for Neu-Castle Motors (is it necessary?)

-Now i am not sure what motor mounts too use... Are there any after market mounts or Should i utilise my original ones and adapt them to slide over this new motor like:

- Another problem is after the crash i noticed my wire going from the ESC to the Receiver had been

Now i would resolder this connection, but i want to buy a suitable extension wire... ( i have a new idea about mounting it so it is in a safer location.)
Would these be suitable for the ESC? or is this just for the servo?

Now sorry about the long thread... but everyone likes pictures...
Hope you can just confirm everything that i have noted and anything extra you would recommend. I will be running my original MMM ESC.

probably the three guys i know that can anwer that question are Hypnotic, Baddazz Savage, and FrddyJ. i am not hip to the brushless game......................yet

Those extension wires will work with anything you can plug them into. Just do not get the polarity of anything reversed. Not sure about that motor or why you would want to run it in a savage.

I have the DB-17 Tvps so extra long chassis... want to gear high aswell so need more torque...

i have had such a mix up with all these motors... going to give HPI a call today and see what they say. Will keep people posted

HPI will probably not be able to recommend a motor for you.
The great users and threads in this forum will most likely answer your questions.

My .02 , the fan works and should be a help for the summer.
The 10awg is way good enough, 12awg is what most might use.
Not sure even with your DB17 you need a 1600kv?

I'm very curious what you were doing and how you landed when you busted the motor like that?!!! I think that kind of carnage deserves an explanation...LOL

I will be running the Fan on mine. It's sad I have this already coming with no truck yet but it will be on its way by Thursday. As for the Extensions they will work just fine. The mesh will be great to protect the wiring and keep it all together.

Well after my convo with HPI, you were right Krash... they didnt give me any advice and the guy i was speaking to was literally reading things of the HPI site. I questioned him on the 25T Pinion and he said that its not a problem!

I have decided not to go with the 1600kv... Would be fun but would absolutely kill my Top end... Although i bash i love my top speed and want both torque and top end....

If you want to see my write up on the crash then here it is... don't even want to explain anymore...

I'm very tempted to just get another torq now just for the ease of things... Seems like all the motors will cause problems for the ESC...

If i just get another torq2200, run 23T Pinion and 44 spur and a 39t high speed idler gear... it may be too much for the esc and motor... But if i run some computer fans to both, hopefully it will just keep them cool and there would be no need for my fire extinguisher
