Hi Guys, will end up needing a new engine & was just wondering what is a good make to fit into my savage, don’t want to spend silly money was looking at Hong Nor Force which remember a couple of guys at club were trying these engines out 15 years back?
Any Advice Would be greatly welcome!

Force engines are very good. There are a lot of different options to choose from on ebay and amain hobbies. I just recently bought a force .28 from china on ebay and even though it took a good while to arrive it turned out good. Any big block nitro engine should fit right in a savage so just pick out whatever option looks best to you.
Heres a couple good options:

Hi okay thanks for info, got new battery hump pack today & when I turned power on all I could hear was humming noise from servos, although servos do move but randomly. Found power lead from battery input side corroded as had trouble soldering on new plug type, was wondering if this is making it give a glitchy power supply as notice green light on my Spectrum DX3 receiver flicker on/off.
Was the power on/off switch with battery charge lead unique design for savage or could I pick a replacement up still?

Theyre not a unique design. You should be able to use just about any standard size on/off switch replacement. You could also try rebinding your radio and receiver

Okay thanks wanted too replace this switch first as I’am pretty sure contacts are corroded before trying too rebind controller now I have printed off user manual. ??
Many Thanks.

Success in the end made my own switch harness up with Tamiya changing plug, rebinded Spectrum & all seems okay apart from steering servo humming.
Thought I could put throttle servo plug in steering slot on receiver to check steering input on my Spectrum DX3 Transmitter & doesn’t operate servo, does that mean there is know power at this slot where steering JST plug goes??
Please Help Someone!

Just thinking by swapping t/b servo over To steering slot on receiver & finding it not working to check steering input from transmitter is it because this servo is bound to receive signal from that only??
